What is ORCID?

ORCID, the result of a joint venture initiated with the support of different publishers and stakeholders, is a researcher identifier that allows all research outputs of a researcher to be collected under a single account by using a single digital identity.

How Do I Get an ORCID?

Step 1:

Go to ORCID website.

Step 2:

Log in to ORCID (if you already have an ORCID account),

or

Register to join.

Step 3:

  • Ensure the visibility is set to Everyone. You can hide individual records if needed.
  • Complete the biography,education and employment sections to build your ORCID profile.
  • As an institution Istanbul Kültür University must be selected and you should enter the English equivalent of the department you are affiliated to. Please do not use abbreviations, and enter the web site of the institution with the date you started to work in the related fields.
  • Under "Also Known As" add all variations of your name.
  • Under "Country" add countries in which you have undertaken research.
  • Under "Keywords" add keywords that describe your research.
  • Add relevant links under Websites like Google Scholar profile page, personal research blog or social media channels you use for research.
